Dr Amy Barrie is Chief Scientific Officer at FutureLife, where she leads scientific strategy and laboratory excellence across the FutureLife clinic network. Amy studied Physiology at the University of Manchester, Prenatal Genetics and Fetal Medicine at UCL and was awarded her PhD in time-lapse incubation and annotation in 2017. Amy is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists and is a registered Higher Specialist Scientist. With 20 years of experience in embryology, 10 years being in IVF laboratory management, Amy is responsible for driving harmonisation of clinical and laboratory practices, ensuring consistent, high-quality outcomes for patients across multiple countries. She plays a central role in shaping FutureLife’s approach to innovation, integrating new technologies such as AI-driven embryo assessment while maintaining rigorous scientific validation and patient-focused care. Amy’s leadership supports FutureLife in continuing to deliver best-in-class reproductive care through collaboration, continuous improvement, and shared expertise. Prof. Dr. Gürkan Bozdağ is Scientific Director of Bahçeci Fertility and an internationally recognised specialist in reproductive medicine, reproductive endocrinology and IVF. With more than two decades of clinical, academic and research experience, he has led major reproductive medicine centres at Hacettepe and Koç University before joining Bahçeci in 2023. He currently serves as President of the Turkish Society of Reproductive Medicine (TSRM) and has been a member of the Executive Committee (ExCo) of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) since 2023. In 2018, Dr. Štěpán Machač, PhD. joined FutureLife as the Chief Medical Officer. Previously, he held significant roles focusing on reproductive medicine. Graduating from Palacký University of Medicine in Olomouc, he also holds a PhD focusing on Inherited Thrombophilia related to severe OHSS. His career started at the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Clinic at Palacký University Olomouc from 1995 to 2003, where he began focusing on infertility treatment. Prior to his role at FutureLife, between 2006 and 2014, Dr. Machač was the lead IVF doctor for international patients at Reprofit International Clinic. Since 2014, he has overseen the IVF Clinic in Olomouc. Additionally, since 2020, Dr. Machač has been the Chairman of Section of Assisted Reproduction at the Czech Medical Society. He is also an author, writing ad co-writing over 30 lectures and 40 professional articles on assisted reproduction, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, and gamma donation.

Dr. Antti Perheentupa is Medical Director at Ovumia and a member of the FutureLife Medical Advisory Board. A specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology, Associate Professor of Reproductive Medicine and an expert in andrology, he has more than 20 years of experience in fertility care, clinical leadership and medical education. Before joining Ovumia, he led the Reproductive Medicine Unit at Turku University Hospital for nearly 15 years and has trained fertility specialists while supervising doctoral research. His clinical and scientific expertise focuses on male infertility, endometriosis and reproductive medicine. Dr. Perheentupa has held several prominent leadership positions within the international fertility community, currently serving as Assistant Treasurer of the International Federation of Fertility Societies (IFFS). He is a former Chair of the Finnish Fertility Society and has also served on the Board of the Nordic Fertility Society. Earlier in his career, he was a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the MRC Reproductive Biology Unit in Edinburgh, Scotland (1996–1998). Maximiliano Beltramo is IVF Laboratory Manager at ReproMed Galway, Ireland, and a Senior Clinical Embryologist with extensive experience in assisted reproductive technologies and IVF laboratory management. He holds specialist qualifications in clinical embryology, is an ESHRE-certified Clinical Embryologist, and is currently a PhD candidate in Medical Sciences, with a focus on Reproductive Genetics. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Irish Clinical Embryologists (ICE), serving as Secretary until February 2026. Mr Beltramo has expertise across all aspects of clinical embryology, including embryo culture and assessment, IVF-ICSI, cryopreservation, Preimplantation genetic testing, laboratory quality management, and the implementation of evidence-based innovations to optimise IVF outcomes. His research interests focus on reproductive genetics, reproductive medicine, and clinical embryology, and he has authored and co-authored peer-reviewed scientific publications and book chapters in the field. He regularly presents scientific work at national and international scientific meetings. ReproMed Fortnightly Journal clubs

ReproMed Fortnightly Journal clubs are an opportunity to regularly meet with the FutureLife lab teams. The purpose of this study group is to share knowledge and to hear about innovation in our field, collaborate with other labs across the group and learn from combined experiences. We also promote regular opportunities to meet with our scientific senior team. We have used this platform to bring together laboratory staff from the FutureLife group to get to know each other, generate communication, trust and ultimately learn from each other to improve our results for our patients. We also quarterly host the KPIs for the lab teams to see how we are all performing together as a group. We have had guest speakers such as Prof Simon Fishel, Kenneth Smalls, Dagan Wells and Giovanni Coticchio! We have also heard from our own lab teams to discuss IdaScore, MACs, AoA, Mosiacs and PIMSI.
